Guardianships of Minors
Sometimes circumstances arise that require a guardian to be appointed for a child or adolescent who has not yet reached the age of majority. A guardian will be required when parents die or have had their parental rights suspended before their children are considered adults. Whether it is a family member or simply a friend who wishes to be appointed guardian over a minor, the process for doing so can be difficult for the inexperienced.
A Court will also require the guardian to make periodic reports as to the health and well-being of the child. These responsibilities can be disruptive without the assistance of an attorney.
Our attorneys are experienced advisors and advocates who can help guide you through the guardianship process.
